!!!FINISHED!!!!! *whew*
time=2 years, on and off. Pen and Ink on 8x12 Paper (uniball micro)

Hypnogogic imagry is that seen behind your eyes before sleep. The floating colours and images, moving, swaying, lulling you into dreaming. I tried to draw one, and didn't really want to stop.

It's been a lot of fun, I work on it in public. Everyone sees something different in there, and just sits and stares for a long time! I've gotten lost all over in it drawing for hours and hours on end. There are no intentionally hidden pictures, consciously at least. Just forms, shading, and letting myself go with it.

I intend to release a few details of areas over the next few days. Seeing a scan is hardly fair to this drawing, Nobody has been able to give it a glance without moving their head in real close. And then usually ask "Did you really draw all this?"

it looks kinda like a magic eye picture...except drawn...by hand...every single line...wow. no wonder it took you two years! the detail is absolutely amazing! *sits and stares for a long time* wow. :+fav:

Now, let me first say, I am not much af a viewer of abstract art. I have no problems with it, it just has never appealed to my eyes. Now about Hypnogogues 4. The obviously unavoidable amount of time and attention to detail this must have required is very inspiring to me. Too often, I have coupled the the word "abstract" with "sloppy," or "carelessly done" even though the person may have spent days on it, it's presentation--I'lll be honest--looks like crap. Sorry, no suger coating there. I am not saying that about this, however. I truly am drawn into this. There is something about the qualtiy of detail causes me to strain to identify... what is that, part of a bridge? no, there is and arm.. I think.. hmm. I love that! Powerful.
This really is something that a viewer can gaze into for hours and at the end, still have found nothing at all! Very well done, congratulation on have such patience.

wow, thats amazing detail! i saw it without full view, and i was like, great, and then full view.....wow.....so much detail, so many little pictures, i could sit here for hours looking at them all....i like that dragon thing in a white space to the left..that pretty cool...and there are so many! i shal fave this! that way i shall be able to look at it whenever i like..:heart:
